DeepCool AK400 Zero Dark Plus

Vor einem guten halben Jahr hatten wir bereits die normale Variante dieses Kühlers im Test, jetzt folgt noch ein Modell in komplett schwarzer Färbung und einem zweiten Lüfter. Vorweg noch eine Frage meinerseits: Müsste „Zero Dark“ nicht eigentlich eine komplett weiße Version dieses Kühlers sein? Die Antwort darauf finden wir heute vielleicht nicht, aber zumindest die Kühlleistung kann ich testen. Und sowieso: Schwarz ist keine Farbe!

Es ist schon eine ganze Weile her, dass wir hier zuletzt einen Kühler von Deepcool getestet haben, schauen wir uns also mal an, was die so in der Zwischenzeit getrieben haben! Der DeepCool AK400 soll als flexible Allroundlösung überzeugen. Der schlanke Single-Towerkühler verspricht eine hohe Kompatibilität, aber auch eine gute Kühlleistung und einen leisen Betrieb. Doch kann er diese Versprechen auch im Praxistest einhalten?

When it comes to affordable cooling solutions, consumers are undoubtedly spoiled for choice. Before we conclude, yes this cause the 11900K to throttle 8% but to be fair the FPU test in AIDA64 can be absolute torture on any cooler. This type of workload will never be seen in a typical gaming session. Maybe close if you are rendering a project. So even though it throttled in the FPU test. It did perfectly fine in the regular CPU test (which simulates a normal heavy workload). If you are familiar with the AK620, then this basically that unit trimmed down to a single tower. The fin design is unique and has a checkerboard effect at certain angles. The quality of the fan and fins are flawless. The fan is super quiet and has a premium feel and look.

If you are looking for a decent-performing, sleek air cooler without RGB functionality, you might consider the Deepcool AK400. It costs 30 USD. We think it’s a very reasonable offer, and it’s well worth the money. The AK400 deserves our “Approved” award because of its great size/performance/price ratio. The performance is enough (especially for the AMD system), and the noise levels are more than reasonable in most case scenarios. It’s possible to attach a second fan to the radiator to better the temperatures. The AK400’s design with a plastic top cover does look good. The Deepcool AK400 has excellent RAM compatibility because the radiator is just 45 mm thick. Overall, the size of the cooler is very reasonable, and it weighs not even 0.7 kg in total, so that shouldn’t have any negative effect on the motherboard (even without a backplate, probably it wouldn’t have).
