MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio, 8GB GDDR6, HDMI, 3x DP

MSI’s RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio is shaping up to be a great value gaming GPU. It may not handle 4K well using Ultra settings, but would if they were dialed back a bit. At 1080p and 1440p resolutions, the RTX 3060 Ti breezed through them at full details. The card can even use Ray-Tracing at 1440p. Considering the performance is on par with the RTX 2080 Super and very close to the RTX 2080 Ti in some tests, the RTX 3060 Ti is shaping up to be our performance per dollar entry-level gaming card.

This MSI RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X TRIO gets my recommendation if you want no compromise, but you are on a limited budget and either cannot afford the next step up or, simply don't want to. The RTX 3060 Ti fills multiple roles and is something that will be the go-to graphics card for a while to come.

I've mentioned this in a couple of other reviews as well; ultimately, everything and anything it's all about gaming price, performance, and, of course, rendering quality. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is a product that meets all these factors suitably; while we do feel the RTX 3070 offers oomph for money, the RTX 3060 Ti simply more reachable for a bigger crowd with a more normalized wallet. This card can still run games at 4K but not with raytracing for sure; it will serve you well at WQHD and Full HD. The easy comparative product would be RTX 2080 SUPER and often even close to that RTX 2080 Ti. And that's not a bad spot to be game performance-wise.

The Nvidia RTX 3000 series has certainly led to an exciting launch. Sure, the performance has been impressive, but stock issues were inevitable given the more competitive prices and the huge leaps in performance compared to the RTX 200 series launch. Not only that, but AMD now have some serious competition, and overall, people just seem to be gaming a LOT more in 2020. No idea why though, do you?

The MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio is the company's top custom-design rendition of the new RTX 3060 Ti Ampere graphics processor by NVIDIA. The MSI card features a mammoth custom-design cooling solution originally designed for GPUs from a segment above, which lets it run the fans at whisper-quiet speeds. The Gaming X Trio brand from MSI also represents the best from the company in terms of aesthetics, with this card featuring a vast set of RGB LED embellishments, including one that runs along the top edge of the card, where it's most visible.

MSI's Gaming X Trio may well be the fastest, quietest and most robust RTX 3060 Ti that money can be, but such praise is obscured when a fundamentally superior RTX 3070 costs only a fraction more.
