be quiet! Pure Base 500DX / 500FX

Es wurde nun ein kleines Gehäuse für maximal ATX Mainboards geliefert. Es ist offen und dennoch leise. Alle beigefügten Lüfter von be quiet! sind non RGB, lediglich die Led-Streifen vorne und im Gehäuse oben beleuchten alles. Das ist stimmig und ausreichend für die verbaute Hardware. Vorne wurden von uns noch drei ARGB Lüfter von der All-in-One verbaut.

Neuer Preis-Leistungs-Sieger? Ja, könnte man schon so sagen. Zumindest macht das optisch gepimpte und Luftoptimierte Gehäuse es in dieser Preisklasse so manchem anderen Gehäuse bestimmt das Leben schwer. RGB-Beleuchtung hat be quiet! zwar auch schon beim Dark Base 700 verbaut, dort aber nicht adressierbar. Das be quiet! Pure Base 500DX ist in diesem Punkt also eine Spur moderner bzw. fügt sich dem weiterhin andauernden Trend der individualisierbaren Beleuchtung.

Wertiges Gehäuse, welches zwar etwa 30,- € teurer als seine Brüdern aus der Pure Base 500 Familie, diesen aber in nichts nachsteht. Besonders der gute Airflow durch die Meshfront und den zusätzlichen Lüfter sollten den Aufpreis rechtfertigen. Dazu rundet die aRGB Beleuchtung, mit hoher Helligkeit und den sanften Farbübergang die Pure Base 500DX ab.

Letztes Jahr haben wir das be quiet! Pure Base 500 getestet, was nun mit dem Pure Base 500DX in einer überarbeiteten Version angeboten wird. Die offensichtlichste Änderung ist eine ARGB-Beleuchtung sowohl hinter der Front als auch im Gehäuse. Dies ist für be quiet! eine Premiere, da bisher keines der eher schlichten und leisen Gehäuses dieses Herstellers mit einer Beleuchtung ausgestattet wurden.

Mit dem Pure Base 500DX hat be quiet! nicht nur ein schicke und zugleich kompaktes Gehäuse im Angebot, sondern auch das Pure Base 500 um sinnvolle Neuerung ergänzt. Kein Zweifel, das Pure Base 500DX ist die bessere Version der beiden Modelle. Man könnte fast sagen, das 500DX ist der kleine Bruder des Dark Base 700 und darauf haben sicherlich viele be quiet! Fans gewartet.

Bisher hatte be quiet! bei seinen Gehäusen vor allem Wert auf die Schalldämmung gelegt. Doch mit dem neuen Pure Base 500DX gibt es jetzt ein Modell, dass die Nutzer glücklich machen soll, die Wert auf einen möglichst guten Airflow legen. Doch wie gut kühlt der Mesh-Midi-Tower wirklich?

Mit dem Pure Base 500DX legt be quiet! das kleinste Gehäuse in einer luftigeren und auf Wunsch auch bunt beleuchteten Version neu auf. Nutzer hatten nach einer besser belüfteten und deshalb deutlich stärker kühlenden Variante gefragt. ARGB-LEDs sind im ganzen Sortiment eine Premiere.

The Pure Base models are advertised to be “the best combination of silence and flexibility features for a good price”. Based on this review, it is easy to determine that be quiet! has delivered on this statement. With the full front mesh panel and three Pure Wings 2 fans, the 500DX has nailed the proper mixture of adequate airflow while maintaining relative silence.

When i reviewed the Pure Base 500 Midi-Tower late last year one thing stood out, its very good price/performance (or price/features to be more accurate) ratio. For an affordable midi tower it had it all, a tempered glass side panel, noise dampening coating, interchangeable top covers, removable air-filters, two pre-mounted Pure Wings 2 140mm fans, removable drive cage and trays and plenty of room for most hardware components anyone would want to put inside.

be quiet! has absolutely nailed it this time, and the Pure Base 500DX takes an already very good PC case and amps it up quite a bit. What’s interesting is that it’s beating its main rivals. Take the Fractal Design Meshify C, this has better cooling support, more SSD mounts, built-in lighting, and it’s cheaper. I do like the Meshify C, but well, the 500DX is just more for your money and that’s what I would buy.

We already loved be quiet's Pure Base 500, and much of that love extends to its 500DX variant. It offers users the same level of radiator support as before, the same internal layout and all of the design features that makes the Pure Base series an incredible case for its cost.

Apart from a couple of niggles such as longer Velcro being needed for the cable anchors and few slightly cramped areas inside the chassis, Be Quiet! has nailed it with the Pure Base 500DX. We love the design, it's different, the lighting is funky and easily controlled, it has great cooling and our white sample just popped in the flesh and is a corker for just £90.

... the original may be sleeker and quieter, but for those who prioritise performance, the Pure Base 500DX is a worthwhile alternative.

As the name suggests, the be quiet! Pure Base 500DX is based on the original 500, but clearly geared towards people who want more bling and better cooling while sacrificing some of that silence. All those extras come at a small, but certainly noticeable price premium of around $15 over the original. That buys you a third fan and embedded RGB controller with the ARGB strip and USB-C in the front.

The Pure Base 500 was a well received case. We don’t particularly like it because the thermal performance is bad. The Pure Base 500DX is a Pure Base 500 with good thermal performance: everyone wins. The $100 price point may be a little less tempting than the $70-$85 range the original 500’s SKUs are currently listed at, but it is in fact a better case than the original 500.

Das be quiet! PURE BASE 500 FX ist ab 119,90 € erhältlich. Dafür bekommt man einiges geboten. Zum einen sind da der gute Luftzug, welcher durch die Front aus Mesh begünstigt wird. Zum anderen wären da die vier Lüfter samt Hub zu nennen. Ansonsten ist das Gehäuse gut verarbeitet, nur die Montage der Festplatten im Käfig ist unelegant gelöst. Für Fans von RGB & gutem Airflow ist es eine Empfehlung.

Das Pure Base 500 FX ist eine neue Variante des erfolgreichen Einsteigermodells von be quiet! - und zwar eine, die konsequent auf RGB-Beleuchtung setzt. Der Midi-Tower kombiniert die leuchtenden Frontstreifen mit gleich vier A-RGB-Lüftern. Auch ein A-RGB-Controller und PWM-Hub wird direkt integriert.

The be quiet! Pure Base 500FX is an excellent option for those who seek what really matters for a case. Exceptional room and space, airflow, and cable management. As a person who frequently deals with Repairing/ Troubleshooting staff, this Case really saved my day. It is a handy tool! The RGB is impressive but still not distracting at the same time. It is only as much as it should be. The case’s quality is above the rest of the competition. Following the great 500dx, I knew this case won’t disappoint me. Some caveats are what might hold some of us back from buying it. Maybe, be quiet! should really think of a 500XL case with better radiator support. Still, if you are looking for an excellent Chassis and the aforementioned cons aren’t on your list, 500FX is the way to go.

The Pure Base 500 series from be quiet! has always managed to impress with a solid build quality and some nice attention to detail. That still holds true today with the 500 FX as all parts feel sturdy, the glass panel is thick and the connective PCB for the front ARGB elements is still a fairly unique aspect we do not see very often. It also manages to be an air coolers dream case with lots of room thanks to its beefy width. There are a few elements that be quiet! could have easily tweaked and improved over the year, but simply has not chosen to do. Longer, more elaborate Velcro strips or cleaner IO implementation are all things we have loved to see. The one visual achilles heel of the Pure Base 500 FX is certainly the fact that this case still employs thumb screws to hold the glass panel in place - that should simply not be a thing anymore in this day and age. However, its saving grace are the four Light Wings fans, that should put the case on the map for ARGB enthusiasts. They are well built, quiet and look great. Thus receiving four of them, which work really well with the installed controller ensures that the be quiet! Pure Base 500 FX can be confidently recommended all things considered.

be quiet! has taken an already amazing product and made it just a little bit better. I’m glad too, as while I’m not a big RGB fan, I do appreciate having the extra choice. I’m sure my kids would set this thing to a nauseating RGB rainbow strobe fest and leave it there. However, for me, I’d set it all to a warm red or darker purple and leave it set to that. That’s the joy of RGB, just having that extra customisation to really make your build match your preferences. They haven’t gone completely over the top either, as the fans themselves don’t light up, just those rings around the edges, which I think looks much cleaner and smarter overall. The addition of the front panel vertical lights is a nice touch too, a pretty striking effect overall and when it sync the effects with the fans, it looks pretty fancy. You can pair the header to your motherboard too, so you could even have the effects match the RGB of other hardware, such as your motherboard, RAM, graphics card and more. Of course, the inclusion of the ARGB controller is matched by its ability to control the fans too. Having synchronised PWM control is awesome, and sticks to be quiets roots as a cooling brand first. Being able to balance noise levels and cooling performance easily is certainly appealing to me. The overall cooling performance on this case is great though, and with a huge mesh front panel, mesh top, and four high-quality Light Wings fans, dealing with the increasing TDP of graphics hardware should be a bit easier here. The overall case is just lovely though, with noise dampening materials on the back panel, a durable inner frame and modular drive bays and cable routing channels that are all just a thumbscrew away from being dismantled, making the customisation and building process a breeze.
