The Pure Power line is above System Power in the be quiet! portfolio and below the Straight Power and Dark Power. The Pure Power 11 FM is the flagship of the line, offering good performance and decent build quality, but not so low noise output, at higher loads at least. When you hear the name “be quiet!” you expect to only find whisper quiet products under all conditions and nothing less. This doesn’t seem to be the case, though, for the Pure Power 11 FM 1000.

What I like about the Pure Power 11 FM 1000W from Be Quiet is that they have designed it aesthetically to be clean and simple with its all blacked-out design. But in areas like the fan, it stands out compared to other budget-focused models. In other words, the money is invested in the areas that matter, not in fancy styling LED screens or RGB lighting. The Pure Power 11 FM lineup is available in all of the wattages that you might need including higher wattages like this 1000 watt version that will help support the power-hungry CPUs and GPUs that we have been seeing recently. You get full modular cables and almost all of the cables are the easy to work with flat flexible cables, I do wish the 24-pin cable wouldn’t be sleeved but it does have the flat cabling behind the sleeving so I guess you could remove it if you wanted. It has a 5-year warranty which isn’t too bad and 80 plus gold certification does seem to be the sweet spot right now for efficiency and cost which is exactly what they are aiming for with the Pure Power 11 FM lineup.

The be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM 1000 W is a solid PSU, especially since it managed to survive all of my tough tests, and with a street price close to $140 in the US market, will stand well. Its street price in Europe is below the 155€ MSRP, at 142€ with the Corsair RM1000x costing around 30€ more. This is notable for users on tight budgets who want a strong PSU. I would pay 5-10 euros or dollars more, though, to have better capacitors. I am not fond, at all, of the Teapo SC caps, and I cannot hide it.

As I mentioned in the FM 850 review, this is the best HEC platform I have had my hands on so far. I am sure be quiet!'s guidance played a big role in HEC putting together such a competitive platform. It might not be up to Corsair RM1000x levels, but the latter is more expensive. The Corsair RM1000x offers better overall performance and double the warranty period since it uses a better fan and caps. We need more choice from new players in the high-end market, so I agree with be quiet! going with a lesser-known OEM for this price bracket. That said, competition is tough, so an even lower price point for the Pure Power 11 FM 1000 could result in considerably more sales.

Das Fazit zum Pure Power 11 FM 850 Watt lässt sich fast komplett von den kleineren Versionen übertragen. Das Netzteil ist quasi in allen Belangen besser als das Pure Power 11 und in vielen Bereichen sogar besser als das Straight Power 11. Wenn man so will, kann man das Netzteil als preisoptimiertes Gold Netzteil bezeichnen, während wohl die nächste Straight Power Edition Leistungsoptimiert sein wird. Am aktuellen Straight Power 11 hat der Zahn der Zeit schon deutliche Spuren hinterlassen. Vor allem in Sachen Laustärke (=Qualität des Lüfters) wird es also deutliche Unterschiede geben zwischen den Serien.

Dies war eines der ersten Netzteile, die ich in einer früheren Version verbaut hatte und eine Marke, die ich immer wieder benutze. Sie halten die Spannung auch nach Jahren. Das älteste ist nun auch fast zehn Jahre alt und läuft wie am ersten Tag. Die Leistung wird auch unter Last gehalten und stellt keine Schwierigkeit dar. Es ist noch Luft nach oben und eine neue Generation von CPU und Grafikarte kann einziehen.

The new Pure Power FM 750 W was a pleasant surprise. Given the non-modular and semi-modular Pure Power 11 units use an FSP platform, which failed to impress me, I didn't expect such high performance from the fully modular line. Platform and OEM changes shot up performance—it is now nearly on par with the Corsair RM750x, which is the reference in this category, especially with the platform refresh and ML fans. The Pure Power 11 FM 750 doesn't do as well as the the RM750x overall performance, but beats it in average efficiency and noise output.
