Corsair Gaming Sabre RGB Pro - Champion Series, USB

Mit gleich zwei Mäusen will Corsair beim 8.000-Hertz-Trend an vorderster Front mitmischen.

After the K70 RGB TKL already had to prove itself in the test, it’s now the turn of the second member of the new Champion series from Corsair. The following article will tell you how the mouse, which was developed together with professional eSportsmen, performs.

When I heard this was going to be an ultra-light gaming mouse, I thought it would just be another mouse on a diet and ready to compete with the ultra-light mice from every other brand. However, Corsair has really gone above and beyond with this mouse, and there isn’t a single thing on it that isn’t designed to be the best in its class.

Mice come in so many formats these days that there is one to fit every hand and need. If you play MOBA games exclusively there are ones with a dozen side buttons. Should you want something that has many customisation options but is a bit more of a regular mouse design then there are products such as the Corsair Dark Core. The Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Champion Series sits at the sleek, stripped down, singularity of purpose end of the rodent spectrum. The first thing that strikes you is the lightness. It's by no means the lightest mouse we've reviewed, but it's still down at the lower end weighing just short of 73g. The benefits of wired technology isn't just the endless gaming, but without a battery you're always getting a mouse that's much lighter than a wireless model. Although the weight numbers are immutable it feels even lighter than it is, and if we had to guess without the facts we'd suggest it's more in the sixty gram range. This lightness means there is no inertia at all and even fine hand movements are translated without issue. For those of you who indulge in marathon gaming sessions you can be sure that this lack of weight means you can game way beyond the recommended 'take a break' limits without fatigue.

After Razer and EVGA, Corsair follows suit on 8000 Hz polling with the Sabre RGB Pro. Though not quite on the same level as the Razer Viper 8K, Corsair's implementation of 8000 Hz polling indeed works, and very well at that. Polling stability is great across the board, and owing to Corsair's custom PMW3392 sensor, the Sabre RGB Pro delivers excellent tracking and very low motion delay. The only flaw I could find is the above average CPI deviation, but that is easily corrected within the software. I'm also pleased to see Corsair taking up a suggestion I made in an earlier review and providing a setting that allows one to either have incredibly low click latency at the cost of slam-clicking and earlier double-clicking or slightly higher click latency but no slam-clicking. Giving users a choice is always the best choice, and the Sabre RGB Pro greatly benefits from this decision.
