Zurzeit kann man sich wahrlich nicht über zu wenig Auswahl bei Kompaktwasserkühlungen beschweren. Fast jeder namenhafte Hersteller aus dem PC Segment hat Wasserkühlungen im Programm. Manche Hersteller stechen in ihrem Eifer allerdings hervor, wie zum Beispiel Corsair. Wir konnten ja bereits eine ganze Staffel von Corsair Wasserkühlungen testen und nun geht es damit auch direkt weiter. Bei all der Auswahl sind Radiatoren mit 420-mm aber noch immer etwas dünner im Markt gesät. Dies ändert sich aber langsam und Corsair präsentiert nun ein solches Modell in der bekannten Hydro-Serie. Nicht zufällig wurde die Wasserkühlung zeitgleich mit den Gehäusen der 7000-Serie vorgestellt, die sogar zwei Plätze für 420-mm-Radiatoren bieten. Das ist am Markt bislang extrem selten.

Mit der neuen Corsair H170i Elite Capellix erweitert Corsair das Angebot an leistungsstarken All-in-One Wasserkühlungen. Der 420 mm Radiator soll mit der leistungsstarken Pumpe für den Platz 1 in dem bisherigen Line-Up Corsairs in Bezug auf die Kühlleistung sorgen. Neben einer guten Performance darf natürlich auch eine zeitgemäße RGB-Beleuchtung der Pumpe und Lüfter nicht fehlen. Corsair hat uns für diesen Test ein Exemplar zukommen lassen, sodass wir euch die Features näherbringen können.

420-mm-AiO-Kühlungen sind die absolute Ausnahme - versprechen aber eine noch höhere Kühlleistung als 360-mm-Modelle. Entsprechend hoch sind die Erwartungen an Corsairs erstes 420-mm-Modell. Die iCUE H170i Elite Capellix wird das absolute Flaggschiff des Unternehmens. Ob sie wirklich die versprochene Ultra-Performance abliefert, klären wir im Test.

The Corsair H170i Elite Capellix is a beast of an all-in-one liquid cooler. It offers top-tier performance, and while it may not take the #1 spot, it does quite well even in noise-normalized situations. In fact, its large size would likely make it a better fit for more power-hungry processors or higher overclocks, where its extra cooling capacity would likely result in a better showing.

Certainly, the H170i is literally and visually a bit of a bazooka. The results are good, the looks great, and the functionality of cable management is superb. However large, 420mm, you must really check if this puppy is actually inside your PC or not. You should also ask if you need 420mm, as you also get almost the same results for a CPU of 240mm or 3600mm in terms of relative cooling. However -- The advantage of a bigger radiator is that you have more capacity to fool around with, and that means that you have the capability to configure your fan RPM at low values all the time. Now we've been impressed. Not so much about the default cooling performance, but moreover the additional cooling capacity versus acoustics. Once we overclocked the processor, this cute little setup easily dealt with that additional heat. For easy sheer silence en equilibrium, our advice is to configure the fans and pump in silent mode and never look back. You'll love it. At balanced mode, the kit still is still very silent. The pump could be heard slightly in balanced mode though, here again, we'd advise silent mode.

Whenever we're dealing with Corsair products it's easy to take some things as read and assume that things such as build quality go without saying. However, not everyone is as well versed with current manufacturers as we are and so it does bear repeating. Almost without exception any time a Corsair product arrives in the office we can be assured that it will be built to the kind of demanding standards that anyone spending big wedge on a premium item expects. Manufacturers often speak of "military spec" as a positive, except we know that anything for the military or any government backed scheme is always built by the lowest bidder. Corsair stuff is always what people think they mean when they quote the military term. Robust. Rugged.

Die iCUE H150i Elite Capellix von Corsair strebt nach den Superlativen. Die AiO-Kühlung ist nicht nur extrem leistungsstark und besonders aufwendig beleuchtet, sondern beim Abrufen ihrer ganzen Leistung auch am lautesten und sehr teuer.

Corsair setzt dieses Mal eher auf ein kleines Facelift als auf eine ganz neue Kühlung. Besonders gut fällt beim neuen Modell der Lieferumfang mit beiliegendem Controller aus. Das neue Design der Pumpeneinheit macht für RGB-Freunde noch einmal deutlich mehr her, als bei der "älteren" H150i. Zudem lässt sich nun auch das Cover noch auswechseln um den Look etwas zu ändern. Die CAPPELLIX LEDs leisten optisch wie auch schon in anderen Corsair-Produkten eine super Arbeit. In Verbindung mit der ICUE-Software und den ML120-RGB-Lüftern wird hier in Verbindung mit der Leistungsstarken Software ein nettes RGB-Feuerwerkt abgefeuert.

Corsair setzt die extra-hellen Capellix-LEDs nun auch für AiO-Kühlungen ein. Und wir können direkt zum Launch der Elite Capellix-Serie klären, wie intensiv das Top-Modell iCUE H150i Elite Capellix beleuchtet ist - und ob es auch mit hoher Kühlleistung überzeugen kann.

Already at the beginning of 2019, Corsair presented the Capellix RGB LEDs developed together with Primax at CES, the “next stage” of multicoloured component lighting. With 40% less consumption, up to 60% more brightness and 35% longer life compared to conventional SMD LEDs, the new technology was promoted. A handful of items with the new LEDs are already available in Corsair’s product range, so now the first AiO water cooling system is being added. All-in-one CPU coolers first hit the market in force over a decade ago, which since then has allowed for more than enough time for developers to optimize their thermal performance, leaving little room for additional raw performance advancements. Nowadays, with many manufacturers retailing AIO cooler solutions, the market is pretty much saturated, a common outcome in the world of PC parts. Because of this, Corsair is always striving to maintain a competitive advantage by designing products with unique features, which is what made the release of the H150i Elite Capellix an anticipated move.

The H150i Elite Capellix performs just as well as it looks and provides lots of customization options in the iCUE software.

First off, if you’re seeking a cooler with excellent bang for buck in terms of raw performance, you’ll be wanting to look elsewhere. The CoolIT platform at the heart of the Capellix coolers is nothing new, nor are the ML RGB fans (apart from the extra LEDs), so while the newly-tuned fan curves eke out more performance, the overall balance of noise and performance is largely unshifted, and you can get a similar experience here elsewhere even within Corsair’s own catalogue.

Corsair has impressed me with the release of the H150i Elite Capellix. It slaughters every other closed-loop liquid cooler I have reviewed when faced with heavy workloads. In the AIDA 64 FPU OC test, it even manages to convincingly beat out all-copper liquid coolers, like the EK-MLC Phoenix 360, Swiftech H360 X3, and more. Some of the other coolers do get close enough, such as the Lian Li Galahad 240, which fell behind the Corsair unit by 3 °C but is also $60 less. Thus, price to performance isn't this latest cooler's strong suit. But then again, when has the pursuit of the best-possible performance you can get with the least amount of effort ever been affordable.

Zu diesem Preis gibt es eine leistungsstarke AiO-Wakü mit viel AnpassungsmC6glichkeiten, allerdings auch eingeschränkter RGB-Synchronisierung. Dennoch hat die Wasserkühlung durchaus den Titel Elite verdient.

I wish that Corsair would build a function into iCUE, where I can assign fan RPM to be configured myself. Personally, I like to run my fans at 500 rpm, fixed, and that's it.

Die 33 RGB LEDs in der Pumpeneinheit und die jeweils acht RGB LEDs in den Lüftern können umfassend per iCUE gesteuert werden. Gleiches gilt für die Leistungseinstellungen und weitere Features der Wasserkühlung. Die Corsair iCUE H115i Elite Capellix konnte uns in allen Punkten überzeugen, sodass wir einen Empfehlung Spitzenklasse vergeben.
