Im Mittelfeld kam jetzt ein weiteres Modell speziell für Spieler mit Claw- und Fingertip-Griff hinzu, welches wir uns im nachfolgenden Artikel etwas genauer anschauen:

Corsair bietet mit der Katar Pro XT erstmals eine Shooter-Maus mit Fokus auf bestmögliche Gleiteigenschaften, während Sensorik, Schalter und Software unverändert bleiben. Im Test erlaubt sich das günstige kleine Eingabegerät keine Fehltritte, kann sich aber auch nicht von gleichpreisiger Konkurrenz abheben.

Besonders leichte Gaming-Mäuse liegen aktuell stark im Trend. Deshalb bringt jetzt auch Corsair mit der Katar Pro XT ein Fliegengewicht auf den Markt. Im Test finden wir heraus, ob die 73-g-Maus eine echte Alternative zu den leichten Modellen anderer Hersteller ist.

All things considered, the Corsair Katar Pro XT is a remarkably good deal—it performs like a $60 mouse, but only costs $30. This becomes even more apparent when looking at the competition. The ROCCAT Burst Core comes with similar build quality, optical main button switches, but a worse cable and sensor, for $29.99 as well. The SteelSeries Rival 3 has a worse cable, worse sensor, and slightly worse build quality, for $29.99. The Razer Viper Mini costs $39.99, has optical main button switches, but a worse sensor and slightly worse build quality. Lastly, the Logitech G203 LightSync has similar build quality, a better cable, but significantly worse sensor, for $39.99. The Katar Pro XT is easily among Corsair's strongest releases in recent years and therefore gets our Budget and Editor's Choice awards from me.

First, the MM700. This will be shorter as there is less to discuss, of course. The MM700 is, without a doubt, a ‘luxury’ item to be bought either as part of a high-end PC build from the start, or by someone after they’ve got their new setup and are looking to add some ‘Je ne sais quois’ to it. Overall, I am a convert. I now ‘get’ why people might want an RGB mouse mat. Would I have ever gone and bought one personally? No, definitely not, but my experience with this product has been exceptionally positive. I don’t have a bad word to say about it. It is built and presented well, plays nicely with iCUE, and the surface is so wonderfully smooth to game on. Mice really do just glide across it.

Die CORSAIR KATAR PRO XT ist eine sehr leichte und hochpräzise Maus, die sowohl im Gaming als auch im Produktiveinsatz keine Schwächen zeigt. Die vollumfängliche Steuerung über die iCUE Software sorgt dafür, dass die Maus sich an jede Situation anpassen lässt. Dazu die RGB-Beleuchtung am Scrollrad und der gute Preis (UVP 39,99 Euro) sorgen dafür, dass wir die Maus jedem empfehlen können.

If you are looking for a quality mouse to play FPS games, the lightweight Corsair Katar Pro XT feels like a feather in the hand, has solid build quality and is a downright amazing value at just $29.99. No need to wait for this thing to go on sale, the current asking price makes it a steal and I certainly look forward to Corsair’s next mouse offerings, as the Katar Pro XT marks the first time I’ve seen Corsair do so many things right with a gaming mouse, let alone a value offering.

The Katar Pro XT is the wired version of a design we've previously reviewed in its wireless format. Where the Pro XT scores over its wireless cousin is the quality of the sensor and the price point. The wireless had the PixArt PMW3325 with a 10000 DPI limit tunable in 100 DPI steps. The wired model not only saves 20g by not needing a battery but also has a PixArt PMW3391 Optical sensor with an 18000 DPI limit which you can adjust in microfine 1 DPI increments. It's no surprise that the PixArt sensors have come to dominate the mouse market with their incredible precision and total lack of any angle snapping or interpolation to detract from the purity of the experience. If you play badly using the Katar Pro XT you've nobody to blame but yourself. No it doesn't have a light up logo nor huge selection of customisable buttons, but what it lacks in flash and flair it makes up for by having one of the nicest cables we've felt and a truly spectacular sensor at a tremendously affordable price. It's light, responsive and the perfect choice if you prefer the main body of your rodent to be slightly smaller than average.

Overall, though, this is a solid entrant to the budget mouse market, showing no obvious weaknesses during a week of gaming and office-based work. For these reasons we're happy to give it a recommended award.

Katar Pro XT trades all-round flexibility to target a specific type of gamer and is worth a closer look if first-person shooters occupy a lot of your time.
