Nachdem wir uns bereits die Interpretationen von ASUS und MSI angeschaut hatten, steht heute der Alienware AW2725Q auf dem Programm – der nächste 4K-QD-OLED-Monitor im 27-Zoll-Format. Die Ausstattung unterscheidet sich dabei von den beiden Konkurrenz-Modellen. Ob das eine gelungene Taktik ist, klären wir in unserem Test.

The Dell Alienware AW2725Q is currently the most affordable 27-inch 4K 240Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor on the market. While competing brands like Asus and MSI are selling their models for $1,100, this brand-new Alienware is making its debut at just $900 – a sizable 18% savings. The Dell AW3425DWM is good for PC gaming. Its 180Hz refresh rate is high enough for most PC gamers, and it supports all common VRR formats to reduce screen tearing. It also has low input lag for a responsive feel and a consistently fast response time at any refresh rate, but there's smearing with fast-moving objects. It even has good picture quality with a high native contrast ratio for deep blacks, but without a local dimming feature, it fails to deliver an impactful HDR gaming experience. Unfortunately, it has distracting VRR flicker with changing frame rates, particularly in dark scenes.

Neben einer Reaktionszeit von 0,03 ms liegt die maximale Wiederholfrequenz nämlich bei 360 Hz. Was der kompakte, aber teure High-Speed-Gamer alles auf dem Kasten hat und wo Schwächen liegen, klären wir in diesem Review.

Dass das Panel eine 1700R Krümmung hat, das fällt aus meiner Sicht gar nicht wirklich auf. Wen das stört, der muss zu den deutlich teureren Wettbewerbern greifen. Denn der Dell Alienware AW3225QF kostet aktuell “nur” 1014 Euro und ist somit der günstigste 32 Zoll OLED UHD Monitor am Markt. Unterm Strich unterscheiden sich die QD-OLED Monitore nur anhand der Ausstattung und ein paar Features, die man meistens eh nicht wirklich braucht. Das Wesentliche – nämlich das QD-OLED Panel von Samsung – ist bei allen gleich. Es war für mich etwas enttäuschend, dass nun auch Dell beim Thema Kalibrierung nicht das liefert, was versprochen wird. Aus meiner Sicht ein absolutes No-Go, denn die offensichtliche Schwäche ist – fast bei allen Herstellern – die RGB-Balance. Das muss bei einer individuellen Kalibrierung, bei der auch noch ein Protokoll ausgestellt wird, auffallen! Auffällig ist zudem, dass die Presse-Samples (herstellerunabhängig) fast immer das liefern, was versprochen wird. Komisch, oder nicht? Das Thema Dolby Vision sollten sich wirklich alle gut durchlesen, denn das geht hier aus dem Fazit nicht hervor. Fakt ist auch, wenn man Dolby Vision aktuell gar nicht messen kann, wie haben es die Hersteller dann kalibriert und vor allem validiert? Verstehe ich nicht!

Spätestens seit der 2024er CES steht fest: OLED-Displays sind auf unsere Schreibtische gekommen, um zu bleiben. Praktisch kein Anbieter ist ohne ein neues Display mit OLED-Panel nach Las Vegas gekommen. Mit dem Alienware AW3225QF haben wir nun eines der ersten Geräte der dritten QD-OLED-Generation im Test und sind gespannt, was der 32-Zöller mit seinem 240 Hz schnellen Panel zu leisten im Stande ist. Problemlos gestaltete sich der Test jedoch nicht – so viel sei schon einmal verraten.

This is the third 32″ 4K OLED monitor we’ve reviewed and we continue to be really impressed with these new panels and their performance. That combination of 4K resolution, a large screen size and 240Hz refresh rate is great, and likely to be a very attractive spec for many people. We know what to expect by now from these 240Hz OLED screens when it comes to gaming performance, with amazing response times, very good motion clarity and excellent image quality. That’s further enhanced here by the high pixel density and 4K resolution, giving you a very sharp and detailed image. This screen also supports games consoles really well with proper, full bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports included and features like VRR, and even HDMI-CEC and Dolby Vision HDR offered. Lag was also super-low on this model so it’s well suited to different gaming use-cases.
