It's got expansive real estate, 120Hz, all the ports you could need, and it's been rated as the World's Best Eye Comfort. But it's not OLED; it's missing speakers altogether and pricy, but that's to be understood.

The Dell U3225QE doesn't come cheap, but this exquisite monitor provides a massive complement of ports and a bright 4K screen with superb contrast.

The Dell U4025QW is an excellent monitor for both gaming and work thanks to its IPS Black panel with a high contrast ratio, high pixel density, wide color gamut, Delta E < 2 factory calibration, extensive connectivity options and VRR support up to 120Hz. Its only downside is the price and poor HDR image quality for the money.

The result is a big, sharp, and extremely expensive monitor that performs beautifully in most situations.

The Dell UltraSharp 40 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor ($1,919.99) represents a significant investment, but for the creative types who might spring for it, it will be money well spent. Between high resolution and pixel density in a large-screen ultrawide monitor, the high contrast afforded by IPS Black, and impressive image quality in our ad-hoc testing, it gets high marks for a monitor for videographers and other creative pros. Add to that a hub with two Thunderbolt 4 connectors and no less than six downstream USB ports, plus Ethernet, HDMI, and DisplayPort, and it has all connectivity bases covered. It is an Editors' Choice winner and an exceptional candidate for professionals seeking a killer large-screen ultrawide display.

Der gekrümmte (1900 R) Dell UltraSharp U3425WE mit UWQHD-Auflösung zeigt im Test eine ausgesprochen gute Leistung und offenbart keine gravierenden Schwächen. Sowohl die ergonomischen Funktionen (bis auf Pivot, was bei einem Curved-Monitor keinen Sinn ergibt) als auch die zahlreichen Anschlüsse inklusive Thunderbolt 4 und 90 Watt Power Delivery, die guten Lautsprecher sowie die durchdachten Docking-Funktionen überzeugen. Bei der Bilddarstellung kann das IPS-Black-Panel eine überzeugende Leistung bei den Blickwinkeln und der Farbdarstellung erzielen. Graubalance und Farbwerte sind exzellent – und das bereits out of the box. Wer im sRGB-Farbraum arbeiten möchte, stellt diesen Modus im OSD ein und muss sich um nichts mehr kümmern. Die Abstimmung ist ausgezeichnet, und die Helligkeit kann angepasst werden. Was will man mehr? Eine Kalibrierung ist nicht nötig. Wer die einzelnen Modi optimieren möchte, kann über die Software Dell Color Management eine Hardware-Kalibrierung durchführen, auch wenn die Einstellmöglichkeiten innerhalb der Software rudimentär sind. Die Ergebnisse sind nicht perfekt, aber praxistauglich. Die Skalierungsoptionen des Dell U3425WE sehen im OSD vielversprechend aus, funktionieren aber nicht zuverlässig. Im PC-Betrieb sollte die Skalierung deshalb der Grafikkarte überlassen werden, die das Bildsignal als Vollbild, Seitenverhältnis oder 1:1 korrekt wiedergeben kann. Die typischen Videobildsignale in 480p, 576p, 720p und 1080p von externen Quellen werden über HDMI dagegen korrekt dargestellt. Die Docking-Funktionen wie KVM-Switch oder LAN-Anschluss, auch in Kombination mit dem PbP- und PiP-Modus, überzeugen und funktionieren praxistauglich. Ein nettes Gimmick ist auch die Funktion „Bildschirmpartition“, die den Bildschirm bei nur einem Signal in zwei Bereiche (50:50) aufteilt. Der Dell U3425WE bietet solide Reaktionszeiten und eine befriedigende Latenzzeit. Trotz seiner 120 Hz ist er kein klassischer Gaming-Monitor, zumal er dies nur am DisplayPort beherrscht. Über HDMI muss man sich mit 100 Hz begnügen. Er ist nicht für schnelle Spiele geeignet und wurde auch nicht dafür entwickelt. Der Dell UltraSharp U3425WE ist für ca. 780 Euro erhältlich, was aufgrund der gezeigten Leistung ein angemessener Preis ist. Die Garantiezeit beträgt drei Jahre. Wer eine gute bis sehr gute Ausstattung und Qualität erwartet, kann hier bedenkenlos zugreifen.
