Als Fazit zum FSP Hydro TI PRO 1000W lässt sich sagen, dass es ein gut ausgestattetes und hochwertiges High-End-Netzteil ist, welches als Bonus eine überragende Effizienz mitbringt. Überragend ist hier wortwörtlich gemeint, denn es erreicht in einem weiten Lastbereich die höchsten Wirkungsgrade, die wir bislang in unseren Netzteiltests der letzten Jahre gemessen haben.

Over the last year, we've been looking at increasingly intricate 1000W power supplies from prolific PSU maker FSP. These have included their 80Plus Gold-rated Hydro G Pro, as well as their 80Plus Platinum rated Hydro PTM X Pro. Today we're finally capping things off with a look at the crème de la crème of the Hydro series, the 80Plus Titanium rated Hydro Ti Pro.

Today we're putting the new FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000W (ATX 3.0) power supply on our test bench. The company (Fortron Source Power) is mainly known for the PSUs but also makes some chassis and the UPSes. It's the fourth PSU from them that we're checking. The last one was the Hydro G Pro 1000W (ATX 3.0 compliant), reviewed in February (and it earned the "Approved" award), and the earlier ones like FSP HYDRO PTM PRO 1200 (also "Approved") and FSP DAGGER PRO 850. The Hydro Ti Pro debuted in April '23 and consisted of two variants, with an output of 850 and 1000 W (we are checking in that article).

There is a new king in the 1000W category. The FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000W unit offers jaw-dropping performance in almost every area, especially transient response, which matters the most in real-life conditions. With the lowest voltage drop at 12V so far in the 200% transient response test, required by the ATX v3.0 standard in units equipped with 12VHPWR connectors, I can say that I am impressed, something that I rarely admit, after evaluating thousands of power supplies.

It’s no coincidence that FSP is alongside names like Seasonic and Channel Well Technologies when it comes to OEM PSU manufacturing and well, the Hydro Ti PRO 850W produced some of the best results I’ve seen in terms of rail stability. Needless to say, my test rig wasn’t able to draw 850W from this unit but even at almost 780W rail stability is almost excellent. Noise levels are also relatively low, yes, at just over 40dBA at load (well at 850W I do expect that to climb slightly higher) the Ti PRO 850W is not quite what I’d call whisper quiet but it’s still a lot better than most. What I didn’t like much was the how close FSP has placed the power connectors for the peripherals (two pairs). This might not be an issue when you’re building a system or mounting the unit for the first time (and there are other models around with similar configuration) but if you need to use one more port, you’ll probably need to remove it to do so. Tiny details/issues I know, still I do feel I need to point everything out.
