GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER

Nvidia’s Super cards have long been a refresh to their launch day SKUs. This year, they came out at the same price points as the cards they are replacing, offering more performance and a better value in the market. Some say it’s what the Nvidia cards should have been upon Ada Lovelace’s release back in late 2022. Fast forward to today, we reviewed one of the upper min-range SKUs in the 4070 Ti Super. At $799.99 MSRP, it comes in at the same price as the 4070 Ti (non-super) and closes the gap on the RTX 4080 ahead of it.

All in all, the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Gaming OC 16G delivers the performance that an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER should perform, which is great. The slight concern now is that the price for the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Gaming OC 16G is set at RM 4709, which costs RM 219 more than the MSRP model which is priced at RM 4490. Now, a higher price is much expected for OC models like the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Gaming OC 16G, but is it worth paying that extra RM 219 for the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Gaming OC over the cheaper MSRP model? Well, I’d say yes but only if you’re coming from something older than the RTX 30 series or RX 6000 series.

The Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti Super Gaming OC is the company's middle model for the RTX 4070 Ti Super. You get a triple-slot, triple-fan cooling solution and factory overclock. Compared to the NVIDIA baseline frequency of 2610 MHz boost, the OC is rated for 2655 MHz, or +1.7%. Averaged over the 25 games in our test suite, at 1440p, we find the card only 7% faster than 4070 Ti non-Super, which is much less than expected. At 4K, the gains are slightly bigger with 10%, but it's definitely not the 15%+ jump that we got with the RTX 4070 Super. Still, these gains help make up ground against AMD's RX 7900 XT, which still remains 2% faster in a pure raster scenario. Compared to last generation's flagship, the RTX 3090 Ti, the new Super card can beat it by a small margin of 5%, which is still impressive. You're basically getting last gen's x90 Ti performance with the x70 Ti Super. Compared to RTX 4070 Super, the performance uplift is 14% and the new card is 33% faster than the RTX 4070 non-Ti non-Super, too. The fastest card from Team Red, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, is still 16% ahead, 20% at 4K—RTX 4080 Super is designed to rival this card.
