Auch Gigabyte hat im laufenden Jahr 2026 für Intels Core-Ultra-200S-Plus-Prozessoren neue LGA1851-Mainboards ins Sortiment aufgenommen, die als Refresh-Modelle gelten. Neben dem Z890 Eagle WiFi7 Plus hat auch das Z890 AORUS Elite WiFi7 Plus den Weg in unsere Redaktion gefunden und will von uns untersucht und getestet werden.

Vor der diesjährigen Computex haben wir uns das Z890 AORUS Elite WiFi7 Plus (Test) angeschaut, das viele positive, aber auch einige negative Aspekte zu bieten hatte. Unterhalb dieses Modells platziert Gigabyte das Z890 Eagle WiFi7 Plus, das ebenfalls Teil der Refresh-Platinen für Intels Core-Ultra-200S-Plus-Prozessoren (Test) ist. Die Frage, ob das Eagle-Modell im Vergleich zum AORUS Elite an einigen Stellen Einbußen in Kauf nehmen muss, stellt sich gar nicht erst. Vielmehr stellt sich die Frage, wie groß die Unterschiede ausfallen. Unser Test zum Z890 Eagle WiFi7 Plus geht auf diese ein.

With new CPUs and a new socket also come new chipsets and motherboards. The launch chipset to go alongside of the new Intel Core Ultra CPUs is Z890 which follows the same making scheme that Intel has used in the past. I am surprised though that it didn’t change alongside of the new CPU naming scheme. To start things off, the first board to come in was the Gigabyte Z890 Aorus Pro Ice. Gigabyte is launching 17 models in total with four of those being the Ice model like we have here which have a white theme. Some of those have a matching non-Ice model as well but the Z890 Aorus Pro Ice doesn’t. Today I’m going to dive in and see what kind of features they have included with this board and run it through our test suite as well. So without wasting any more time, let’s get to it!

We're starting to get rumors of another round of CPUs from Intel and combined with price cuts for boards and CPUs already, there are situations where Arrow Lake makes sense, especially if gaming isn't the main priority. Gigabyte's been understandably focusing much of its efforts on AMD, and we've had some fantastic options there in both black and white, but today we're seeing what it has to offer on Intel's current platform with the Z890 Aorus Elite X Ice. It's received a modest price cut recently, falling from the $280 mark to $240, but has in the last few weeks fallen to just $210. That seems like something of a steal as far as motherboards go given what's listed in the specifications, with a 16+1+2 80 A power phase design, Thunderbolt 4, PCIe Gen 5 GPU and M.2 support, CUDIMM, Wi-Fi 7 and of course Gigabyte's plethora of DIY-friendly features too.

The Gigabyte Z890 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 is here, as a nice entry-to-mid-range Z890 motherboard with the latest Intel chipset and is prepared to push the performance of the 15th Gen Intel Core Ultra processors. Well, technically 15th Gen, they’re actually 1st Gen Core Ultra, as Intel is trying a fresh start with the naming. This ATX motherboard strikes a balance between high-end features and affordability, making it an appealing option for gamers and enthusiasts seeking a solid foundation for their next PC build.
