Lexar Professional, CFexpress 2.0 Type B

The Lexar pro Diamond is perhaps one of the fastest and coolest CFExpress Type B Cards in the industry today...and it comes with a limited lifetime warranty. MSRP Pricing for the 512GB version reviewed here is $529 which could come down just a bit.

The Lexar 128 GB CFexpress memory card is a “Type B” memory card based on the CFexpress 2.0 version and PCIe 3.0 x4 bus. Per its specifications, the card is capable of 1750 MB/sec read and 1000 MB/sec write speeds, which is insane! Compare that to the fastest XQD memory cards available today that max out at 440 MB/sec read and 400 MB/sec write speeds and you will see why CFexpress is so much better technically.

The latest addition to Lexar’s Professional range of memory cards is the CFexpress Type B card using PCIe Gen 3 and NVMe 1.3 protocols for fast transfer rates. Priced at £215, the cost per gigabyte is certainly high, but is the performance worth it for professional users?

They were one of the first to manufacture CFexpress cards with performance specs up to 1750MB/s which is still the top read speed to date. Their sustained write speeds of just under 1GB/s validate that this card will do an excellent job in any camera out there, professional, pro-sumer or consumer. Pricing is a bit high for what we are seeing in other cards, but right on par with the SanDisk Extreme Pro which is this cards direct competition.
