Logitech G502 X / G502 X Lightspeed / G502 X Plus

Bei all den vielen Mäusen auf dem Markt, wie soll man sich da nur für eine entscheiden? Das gilt natürlich für so ziemlich jede Produktkategorie. Also macht eure Entscheidung vielleicht vom Hersteller abhängig. Zuletzt hat mich Logitech mit seinen Mäusen überzeugt und mit der G502 X Plus setzt sich dieser Trend fort. Sie ist exzellent verbaut und liefert eine tolle Performance in Sachen Latenz und Sensor. Fühlt sich gut an, sie ist angenehm benutzbar und flutscht prima über verschiedene Oberflächen. Einziger Schwachpunkt im Vergleich zu manch anderen Mäusen könnte im kompetitiven Sektor das Gewicht sein. Da gibt es leichtere Optionen. Und dann wäre da natürlich noch der Preis. Rund 170 Euro sind nicht wenig Geld, aber dafür bietet die G502 X Plus auch eine Menge und vor allem Qualität sowie eine lange Laufzeit, zumal sie mit ihren Switches noch mehr auf Langlebigkeit ausgelegt ist. Eine Investition, die sich langfristig lohnen könnte. Ob es euch das wert ist, nun, diese Entscheidung liegt letztlich wie immer bei euch. Qualitativ spricht wenig dagegen.

The Logitech launched the G502 back in 2014 which at the time was a complete departure from the “Logitech” styling and quickly became their edgy styling for years. While most of the Logitech mice have moved back to a smoother style, the G502 was so iconic that its design has stuck around with Logitech updating it every few years to the latest hardware and adding a Lightspeed model back in 2019 as well. So when they announced an updated G502 lineup it wasn’t a complete surprise, but with it being a full lineup, not just one or two mice that was a surprise. The new lineup has the G502 X product name and includes a basic G502 X which is the wired version, the G502 X Lightspeed which is wireless, and the G502 X Plus which is wireless as well but has Lightsync RGB lighting as well. All three are now available in black or white as well which is a big change. The G502 X Plus is the model that Logitech sent over for us to check out and is what I have been testing for a few weeks now so let’s dive into the new design.

Straight to the point, Logitech’s G502 X Plus is an excellent wireless gaming mouse that is comfortable, customizable, and wireless for navigational freedom with the performance of a wired model. Clicks and movements register without any perceivable or notable lag, and the Hero 25K sensor can accommodate sensitivity levels far beyond what anyone might realistically need, especially for gaming. Battery life is a big plus, too, if you’re willing to turn off the glowing LEDs—130 hours of continuous movements amounts to five days of non-stop usage. Turning on the lights knocks that down to 37 hours, or around a day and a half. Again, we’re talking about non-stop usage though. An optional Powerplay mat makes battery life a non-factor altogether, though that means spending an additional $119.99. That's on top of the $159.99 asking price for the G502 X Plus ($139 on Amazon), which puts this mouse squarely in premium pricing territory. From a design and functionality standpoint, the only real knock I have is the absence of an adjustable weight system. Mouse makers are tripping over themselves bringing lighter models to market, many of them with unsightly holes in the shell to shave off a few grams (a design I’m not personally found of). The popularity of these mice may have influenced Logitech’s decision. Whatever the reason, if you prefer a heftier mouse, this isn’t it. That said, the G502 X Plus is nimble and agile. It’s lighter than the G502 Proteus Spectrum I’ve been using for several years, but it didn’t take me long to get used to the feel. Combined with the excellent sensor and versatile customization, it’s easy to recommend the G502 X Plus for gamers and power users looking for a high-end mouse.
