MSI hat den Zug der ultraleichten Gaming-Mäuse nicht verpasst und ebenfalls zwei Derivate auf den Markt gebracht. Die MSI Glutch GM41 Lightweight V2 (that’s a mouth full) und die MSI Glutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless. Ich liebe diese leidlich auszusprechenden Namen. Ihr etwa nicht? Spaß bei Seite und los geht’s…

Die MSI Clutch GM41 Lightweight reiht sich erfolgreich in die Riege der superleichten Gaming-Mäuse ein, ohne dabei den einen oder anderen mit einem umstrittenen Loch-Design abzuschrecken. Durch ihr leichtes Gewicht, die griffigen Seitenflächen und Teflon-Füße liegt sie zudem gut in der Hand und ermöglicht schnelle, ungehinderte Bewegungen. Alles in allem handelt es sich hierbei um eine rundum solide Gaming-Maus mit „Lightweight“-Kernfeature.

Leichte Mäuse liegen voll im Trend - und auch MSI will ein entsprechendes Modell anbieten. Die neue GM41 Lightweight wiegt nur 65 g. Trotzdem muss weder auf eine geschlossene Griffschale noch auf einen High-End-Sensor verzichtet werden.

If you saw my Sunday unboxing article about the two MSI monitors, you already know what’s coming today. Let’s take a look at the two identical twins. MSI has not missed the ultra-light gaming mouse bandwagon and has also launched two derivatives. The MSI Glutch GM41 Lightweight V2 (that’s a mouthful) and the MSI Glutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless. I love these sorry to pronounce names. Don’t you? Jokes aside and here we go….

With the Clutch GM41 Lightweight, MSI enters the lightweight gaming mouse market: At just 67 g, but without holes, the GM41 is indeed lightweight. PixArt's PMW3389, Omron switches rated for 60 million clicks, and pure PTFE feet round things off.

The MSI Clutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless mouse is certainly worthy of consideration. It is comfortable and extremely lightweight. The Omron 60M switches feel fantastic, and there is zero noticeable lag from the PixArt PAW-3370 Optical Sensor. The battery life lasted well past the rated 80 hours and within one hour of charging reached the 84% battery life displayed in the above image. MSI’s Dragon Center software is one of those programs that you either love or hate. With that said, it is an intuitive, easy-to-use program that is highly functional and the extreme level of adjustment that MSI provides is fantastic. Retailing from $84.99-$95 (MSI hopes the price drops when more stock is available), the GM41 Wireless costs considerably less than similar products like the Razer Viper Ultimate, Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro, and Logitech G Pro X Superlight Wireless. With the features presented above and the very reasonable price tag, we find the MSI Clutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless gaming mouse to be a great value. For this reason, it receives the Overclockers.com Seal of Approval.

The battle for lightweight supremacy has been crazy this last year or so, with every brand trying to outmanoeuvre each other. The new generation of lighter gaming mice is proving a smash hit with gamers worldwide, especially in competitive gaming. Promising to be more nimble, more responsive, and even helping to reduce fatigue; they’ve certainly got a lot of appeal. FPS gamers can benefit from being able to make small twitchy movements more accurately, and lazy at home gamers like myself can just enjoy the ease of movement while working from home or playing ESO; there’s something here for everyone.

Die kabellose Variante der MSI Clutch GM41 Lightweight erfährt erwartungsgemäß einen Aufpreis, der sich jedoch in Grenzen hält. Die Wireless-Variante findet als eines der günstigeren kabellosen Lightweight-Modelle eine Nische, in der sie unter anderem mit der Logitech G305 Lightspeed konkurriert.

MSI war bis vor gar nicht so langer Zeit hauptsächlich für Mainboards und Grafikkarten bekannt, aber insbesondere in den letzten beiden Jahren hat man das Angebot an MSI-Produkten enorm erweitert und auf zahlreiche Produktkategorien ausgeweitet. MSIs Angebot wird damit immer mehr zum "Vollsortiment". Das geht sogar so weit, dass mittlerweile neben Monitoren, Netzteilen, reichlich Peripherie und sogar MSI Gaming Stühle angeboten werden. Aus der Kategorie der Gaming Peripherie schauen wir uns heute ein brandneues Produkt genauer an, nämlich eine neue kabellose und besonders leichte Maus. Sie hört auf den Namen Clutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless. Die Maus kann nicht nur mit und ohne Kabel genutzt werden, sondern sie wird auch noch mit einer kleinen Ladestation ausgeliefert, auf der die Maus zum aufladen während der Gaming-Pause zur Ruhe kommt. In der Maus kann zudem auch der Wireless Dongle untergebracht werden um so die Reichweite noch einmal zu verbessern.

Kabellose Mäuse liegen genauso im Trend wie besonders leichte Mäuse. Mit der Clutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless greift MSI nun beide Trends in einer Maus auf. Obwohl diese Gaming-Maus im intensiven Gaming-Einsatz über 80 Stunden mit einer Akkuladung auskommt, wiegt sie nur 74 g.

All in all, I really enjoyed my time with the Clutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless. The included charging dock is a huge plus, and although an asking price of $95 doesn't put the GM41 Wireless into the budget bracket, value for money is no doubt excellent. This becomes even more evident when looking at the competition. The Razer Viper Ultimate too comes with a charging dock, alongside slightly better performance, optical switches for the main buttons, and similar weight and build quality, but costs $149.99. The Logitech G Pro Wireless goes for $149.99 as well, has excellent performance, low click latency, similar weight, and strong battery life, but lacks the charging dock.

I mentioned it earlier, but I think the best part about seeing MSI bring out the Clutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless is knowing that MSI is listening to what people are looking for. Lightweight mice in general were hard to come by for a long time and are now a lot more available. But turning a good lightweight mouse into a good wireless mouse often means adding a lot of weight and MSI did a good job of avoiding that. The GM41 Lightweight Wireless is lighter than the G Pro Wireless and the Viper Ultimate which are both the golden standard for lightweight wireless mice without resorting to holes all over the place. Not only that but MSI did it with the GM41 being a bigger mouse! They stuck with solid performing components like the 3370 sensor and the Omron switches as well. Fans of the Razer Viper may also be happy to know that the GM41 has a similar but larger shape if they are looking for a larger option. I wasn’t able to include it in my pro’s listing, but the overall battery life of the GM41 as well as the included dock are huge. You can get over a week out of the mouse easily unless you are always gaming and charging in the downtime is easy with the small dock.

If you don’t need wireless, the stock GM41 is a little cheaper and lighter and an excellent mouse overall. However, for this price range, the wireless performance is flawless, and the upgraded sensor even offers a higher max DPI vs the wired model. At just 9g heavier than the wired model, this is still an ultralight gaming mouse, too, making it very comfortable to use for long periods and a great work and gaming mouse overall.
