MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

The new 11 GB memory enabled GeForce RTX 2080 Ti TRIO From MSI offers a step up in additional performance seen from the founder edition from NVIDIA, it remains to be a relative step, to be honest. A lot is regulated by many limiters. None the less, this is a kick-ass card alright (and it better be at this price tag). The Trio positions itself in-between the Gaming X and the Lightning and while we're not sure we'll ever see another lightning, the new Trio certainly has loads of appeal. We expect the card to retail at a 1300 EUR/USD range, while I would recommend this product overall as sound hardware, I am continuously fighting with that price level (as set by NVIDIA), as it is just a crazy amount of money.

The improvements of the MSI Gaming X Trio in both RTX 2080 and RTX 2080Ti form give a much clearer indication of the direction nVidia are heading in with this new, complex PCB, and for that reason it wins our OC3D Enthusiast Award.

The Duke is the new King, I made a pun about it, but it's also the truth. Out of all the RTX cards I've had my hands on, I liked this one the best. It is the combination of refinement in design, looks, and hardware. That said, all cards and brands will be close towards each other when looking at performance. The regulated limiters that NVIDIA applies will make sure of that, this card performance wise, however, is in that top 2, add the Duke series my friends .. is actually the more affordable model from MSI (if you allow me to use the word affordable here in this range for a second lol).

MSI's GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z is truly a flagship. It comes factory overclocked to 1770 MHz, which is higher than most RTX 2080 Ti custom designs. Unfortunately, memory isn't overclocked even though the Samsung GDDR6 memory chips are certainly able to handle an OC since we could manually overclock it by almost 20%. The Lightning is the first custom-design RTX 2080 Ti that we saw significant performance improvements from due to the factory overclock.

This is clearly not a product for everyone, but its chart-topping performance makes it a worthy winner of our Extreme award, and if you’re shopping for the fastest RTX 2080 Ti around, this will certainly be one of them.

A 1,770MHz, out-the-box overclock ensures chart-topping results, there's plenty of headroom to go further, and the card looks as formidable as they come.
