Vor einem Jahr betitelten wir die Geforce RTX 4070 Ti Super als "eierlegende Wollmilchsau", nun startet mit der Geforce RTX 5070 Ti ihre Nachfolgerin. Liefert Nvidia die ultimative Gaming-Grafikkarte für offiziell (ab) 879 Euro oder gibt es einen Haken?

Yesterday, NVIDIA launched the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, at least as it relates to cards that should be priced at MSRP. We evaluated an ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and found it to be a cool, quiet, good performing and easily overclockable graphics card, but one that’s only marginally faster than its immediate predecessor with traditional rasterization. Factor in DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation, however, and effective framerates far exceed much more powerful cards. We’ll show you exactly what that looks like a little later.

In klassischen Rastergrafik-Szenarien liefert die MSI RTX 5070 Ti Ventus solide Performance und eignet sich hervorragend für WQHD-Gaming. In 4K sind zwar höhere Detailstufen möglich, jedoch nicht immer mit stabilen 60 FPS, weshalb Upscaling-Technologien oft erforderlich sind. Im Vergleich zur RTX 4070 Ti Super mit ordentlichem Werks-OC zeigt sich eine durchschnittliche Mehrleistung von etwa 12 % (rund 16% zur MSRP-Karte), wobei CPU-Limitierungen in niedrigeren Auflösungen die Differenz teilweise verringern.

The RTX 5070 Ti may not be an exciting option for those expecting a major leap over the RTX 4080 or RTX 4080 SUPER, but it does show a pretty good gain over the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, which I think is a solid addition to NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series lineup. On average, the RTX 5070 Ti is about 10-20% faster than the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER in raster and ray tracing performance. The gain is reasonable enough even for those who want to upgrade from the RTX 4070 Ti or 4070 Ti SUPER. However, its biggest advantage is clear: DLSS 4. With full support for AI-driven frame generation, Blackwell GPUs can achieve significantly higher frame rates in supported titles. So, should you buy the RTX 5070 Ti? At $749, I think it’s a solid upgrade even if you’re coming from an RTX 4070 Ti or 4070 Ti SUPER, especially if you’re eager to try out the multi-frame generation feature given the increasing adoption of multi-frame generation in modern games.

The MSI RTX 5070 Ti Ventus PZ moves the 16-pin power connector to the back of the card, where it's neatly hidden under a magnetically attached metal cover. The card's thermal performance is noticeably improved compared to the original Ventus as well, achieving much better noise levels.

Based on the same GB203 silicon as the RTX 5080, the RTX 5070 Ti will have a cut-down version that only enables 8,960 CUDA cores with 70 RT cores, 280 tensor cores, 280 TMUs, and 128 ROPs. NVIDIA has equipped the card with 16GB of GDDR7 memory that runs across a 256-bit memory interface. The card operates at a base clock speed of 2300 MHz, boosting up to 2452 MHz with the memory being 28 Gbps. The card we are taking a look at today specifically is the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC Plus. Gaming Trio is going to sit right below the Vangaurd series in MSI’s RTX 5070 Ti product stack. This card will come with a factory overclock so out of the box the GPU boost is going to be 2572 MHz. On top of that you are going to get MSI’s Tri Frozr 4 thermal design which features three cooling fans, a sleek metal backplate, and of course some RGB lighting.
