MSI Radeon RX 6750 XT

Overall, the Radeon RX 6750 XT is about what we expected looking at its specs. MSI's done a fine enough job putting this particular card together, although we have to object to both the extra-tall PCB and the backwards power connectors. Still, it stays cool and is completely inaudible while gaming. That's somewhat impressive in light of the higher power consumption of the Radeon RX 6750 XT itself.

I don’t have any issue with the RX 6750 XT, including its performance. I think it’s a good graphics card for 1440p gaming and 1080p as well. As long as this graphics card sells for cheaper than the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3070, I’ve no problem recommending it. The only thing to consider is if you care about ray tracing. AMD is behind when it comes to ray tracing and upscaling technology. The RTX 30 series GPUs are better when it comes to ray tracing and it has a more mature DLSS implementation. Although, AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 seems to be improving as well.

MSI’s RX 6750 XT Gaming X Trio takes AMD’s reference design and improves it in every way. The GXT version comes equipped with a 7+3+2-phase power delivery system and 375 W of available power from the two 8-PCIe connectors and PCIe slot. The Tri Frozr 2.0 heatsink is effective and quiet with an appealing appearance overall. The MSI RX 6750 XT is 324 mm (13.2″) long, fitting most mid-tower cases. Always check your dimensions before purchasing. The drawback to having these features is a meager price increase. The reference model AMD RX 6750 XT’s MSRP is $549. MSI’s Gaming X Trio will definitely bring a premium over the reference MSRP. As mentioned earlier, at this time we don’t have an MSRP for the MSI RX 6750 XT Gaming X Trio but we’ll update this article when we do.

The Radeon RX 6750 XT's foundation architecture is sound, MSI enhanced it with a more sophisticated PCB design, component choices, and a beefier triple-fan cooler. This formula is effective, delivering a result that is maybe 3–4% quicker over the reference, depending on the display resolution and game. You'll have a device with excellent performance in the WQHD range at very acceptable temperatures and lovely acoustic levels. Aesthetically, the card is nice, albeit a little bulky for its product range. However, we believe MSI should abandon the silver-colored parts on the cooling shroud. As previously said, this is an excellent Full HD and Quad HD card with Ultra HD capabilities. Raytracing performance on this generation RDNA2 card is adequate at best and allows for some experimentation with it. AMD is lacking in DLSS capabilities but does give your RSR. All of this might be forgiven if the product were reasonably priced, which it is not. We believe the card as tested will retail for around 550~600 USD, and although we can suggest the card for gaming at 2560x1440, we have a hard time justifying the confusing price tag. It's a lovely product build though, proper quality with all the right boxes being ticked. If you're coming from a Series 5000 card, it might be a nice upgrade, but we can't dismiss the fact that Radeon series 7000 slowly is becoming visible on the horizon as well.

Averaged over our whole game test suite at 1440p resolution, we find the MSI Gaming X 8% faster than the Radeon RX 6700 XT reference design. This increase is a bit smaller than expected, but enough to match the GeForce RTX 3070 and reduce the lead of the RTX 3070 Ti to only 6%. AMD's own Radeon RX 6800 non-XT is 11% faster now, and the RTX 3060 Ti is conclusively beat with a +11% difference. While these gains don't seem as big as many expected, they are still enough to achieve several psychologically important victories as NVIDIA can now no longer claim performance leadership and charge a premium for it. With these performance numbers, the RX 6750 XT is a fantastic choice for gaming at 1440p, or 1080p with a high-refresh-rate display. In many lighter titles or when dialing down settings, you might even be able to run 4K with it. Another approach could be to use AMD's FSR and RSR upscaling technologies to render your games at slightly lower resolution and upscale them to 4K with a minimal loss in image quality.
