Das Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ ist beeindruckend. Das Design mit seinem seitlich gebogenen Display, dem schicken Metallrahmen und der faszinierenden Farbgebung Aura Glow sieht eine Nummer größer noch einmal imposanter aus. Vor allem der OLED-Screen ist der Wahnsinn, viel bessere Panels gibt es derzeit wohl nicht. Zudem bietet das Plus-Modell optional mehr Speicher und der ist dann auch noch erweiterbar – warum nicht gleich so, Samsung? Bei der Leistung gibt es abseits von Benchmarks keinen Unterschied zur „kleinen“ Version mit „nur“ 8 GByte RAM, gleiches gilt auch für die Kamera – trotz des zusätzlichen Tiefensensors und minimaler sonstiger Detailunterschiede. Screen und Speicher sind klare Kaufgründe für das Plus-Modell, darüber hinaus muss die Frage gestellt werden, ob ein Smartphone wirklich rund 1000 Euro wert ist. Wer hier mit „Ja“ antwortet, der sollte zum Note 10+ greifen. Das gilt auch, wenn man den Stylus regelmäßig zu nutzen gedenkt, denn auf dem größeren Screen kommt auch der noch besser zum Einsatz. Handlicher ist hingegen klar das Samsung Galaxy Note 10, während das Huawei P30 Pro die noch bessere Kamera bietet. Eine tolle Budget-Lösung mit ähnlichen Leistungsdaten stellt hingegen das Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro mit Popup-Kamera dar. Das Galaxy Note 10+ ist abgesehen von der Sprachqualität in allen Kategorien überdurchschnittlich. Zudem bessert Samsung Schwachstellen der S10-Serie (langsamer Ladevorgang) aus. Wer gefallen an Handys mit großem Screen gefunden hat, wird das neue Samsung Note wieder einmal lieben. Der S-Pen stellt für Geschäftsleute und Kreative zudem eine praktisches Tool im Alltag dar. Der Nutzen für Otto-Normalverbraucher ist aus unserer Sicht aber überschaubar. Unverständlich ist uns, dass Samsung trotz der hohen unverbindlichen Preisempfehlung dem Note 10+ keinem 45-Watt-Charger oder einen Klinke-auf-USB-C-Adapter beilegt.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ should be a tougher sell than it actually is. A $1,100 Android phone, scaled so vast that many will struggle to comfortably hold it, the defining feature of which is a pop-out stylus… and yet here we are, in 2019, with a flagship that boasts such user goodwill that even a history of immolation cannot derail it. As always, Samsung has thrown the kitchen sink at its newest Note, but now more than ever the results are mixed.

As it typical for the Note, this 10th edition is a truly amazing smartphone... but only for those that can afford it and really want this size of device. There's no doubt Samsung has made the Note 10+ the best edition yet with better cameras, an amazing screen and lots more impressive tech. However, many of the new features are gimmicky and we imagine some users will be distraught at the removal of the headphone jack.

Samsung closed the camera gap with rivals and created a top-of-the-line phone for people who want the best Android has to offer.

It's like a Galaxy S10+, but slightly better in several ways. With a bigger screen, more battery, higher-end specs and the truly unique S Pen. You just have to be willing to pay a considerable amount extra for those marginal improvements — and lose the headphone jack in the process.

The Galaxy Note 10 Plus is a phone for everyone. Samsung is moving away from giving everything to the power users, and towards giving everyone the power.
