Seasonic Connect 750FA 750W, ATX

Eine der neusten Entwicklungen aus dem Haus Sea Sonic ist das Seasonic Connect Netzteil. Das Modell hebt das Konzept des modularen Netzteils auf einen komplett neuen Level. Haben übliche modulare Netzteile, wie man sie bisher kannte, einfach nur abnehmbare Kabel, so ist das Seasonic Connect nun wirklich ein "Modulares Netzteil" im wortwörtlichen Sinn. Das Seasonic Connect ist ein äußerst interessantes Netzteil. Nicht nur wegen der neuen Bauweise und dem speziellen Kabelmanagement, sondern insbesondere auch wegen der Frage wie sich die Aufteilung in zwei Module auf die Messwerte auswirkt.

Wirkliche Innovationen sind in der Netzteilbranche eher selten, von daher ist es sehr erfreulich, dass Seasonic vor kurzem ein erstes Modell des CONNECT-Systems auf den Markt gebracht hat. Bei CONNECT werden ein Netzteil und ein Backplane-Modul kombiniert, um das Kabelmanagement im System zu optimieren. Das auf der Rückseite des Mainboard-Trays positionierte Modul verteilt die Leistung und die Systemkomponenten werden von diesem ausgehend mit kurzen modularen Kabeln versorgt. Jeder hat sich bei der Verkabelung seines PCs sicherlich schon einmal gefragt: Geht das nicht irgendwie einfacher? Seit ein paar Monaten gibt es dazu eine klare Antwort: Ja, mit dem neuartigen Kabelhub-System von Seasonic. PCGH hat sich die "Kabelmanagement-Sensation" Prime Connect genauer angeschaut und auf Herz und Nieren geprüft.

As a standalone case the ARCH Q503 may not offer anything new (especially in terms of looks, although we don’t see models with both side panels made out of tempered glass a lot) but combined with the PRIME CONNECT GOLD power supply units it certainly offers a far better degree of cable management compared to regular cases. On top of that however the CONNECT SSR-750FA power supply unit also performed extremely well in terms of rail stability so it’s not a model aimed just to improve on how the ARCH Q503 looks. Unfortunately, the 135mm fan used is quite loud when at full load and as a matter of fact since it’s the same unit used in the SYNCRO CONNECT 850 model Seasonic has probably used an even more aggressive profile this time over (the SYNCRO model was far more silent). Interior space is good overall, yes, it’s far from stellar and the fact that you only have room for an 360mm radiator at the front may disappoint some users but overall, it features more room than your average mid-tower.

The Seasonic Connect is a unique product, the first of its kind. The idea might look simple, but nobody else had thus far found the courage to implement it in a desktop PSU. By separating the modular panel from the power supply and attaching the VRMs that generate the minor rails to the Connect module, Seasonic achieves more clearance for the PSU's internals, which allows for better internal airflow. It also cuts down on cable length, which makes cable management and routing considerably easier. Less cable clutter may also improve airflow inside the case, and bringing the minor rails closer to the load restricts energy losses while improving the transient response.
