Die VERTEX GX sind unterhalb der PRIME-Flaggschiffe angesiedelt und decken einen weiten Leistungsbereich ab, wobei sie gute 80-PLUS-Gold-Effizienz mit einer modernen Ausstattung kombinieren. Wir haben uns mit dem VERTEX GX-1200 einmal das Spitzenmodell der Serie näher angeschaut.

Mit einem Preis ab derzeit 220 Euro ist das Vertex GX-1000 nicht gerade günstig. Dennoch erwartet euch mit dem Vertex ein sehr hochwertiges und effizientes Netzteil, welches selbst leistungsstarke Hardware problemlos befeuern kann.

As expected, the VERTEX GX-1000 SAKURA Limited Edition power supply unit by Seasonic performed almost identically to the “regular” VERTEX GX-1000 I reviewed a while back and well, that’s fine. Performance was never an issue with this platform, rail stability is almost excellent, electrical efficiency is very good, noise levels are more or less the same as with similar models from the competition and as for features Seasonic packs pretty much everything there is. Build quality is also very good and well, that’s not something new for a Seasonic unit. Design on the other hand (or more accurately color theme) can always get better and so the SAKURA limited edition is the ideal model for white builds, especially if the owner/user happens to be a girl/woman. Seasonic has begun to introduce such limited models in the market lately and well, I for one are cheering them on. Currently you can get your hands on the VERTEX GX-1000 SAKURA power supply unit by Seasonic for around USD290 inside the USA and well, that’s not a bad price if you’re looking for a unit with a limited edition color theme. Unfortunately, the VERTEX GX-1000 SAKURA is not currently available in the EU, and I have no idea on whether or not that will change. At the end of the day the VERTEX GX-1000 SAKURA delivers on everything the “regular” edition did and then some (new 12V-2x6 connector), so the Golden Award is in order.

Today we’re putting the new Seasonic Vertex GX-1000W power supply on our test bench. The company is mainly known for its PSUs (like the Prime series, which we checked, for example, the TX-1300) and the chassis (like the Arch Q503 or Syncro Q704). The Vertex series is a new one from Seasonic that was launched in September 2022, but with the availability specified for January 2023. It consists of 80 Plus Platinum or Gold efficiency and has the following wattage variants: 1200 W, 1000 W (which we’re checking in an 80 Plus version), 850 W, and 750 W.

The Seasonic Vertex GX 850 W is a power supply that confidently delivers on what matters most: reliability, stability, and long-term peace of mind. I love to see a lot of power supply vendors backing up their premium products with warranties that go into the double digits, with Seasonic bringing the Vertex GX line warranty up to 12 years. Performance wise the Vertex GX delivers its full rated power output and beyond while maintaining very good voltage regulation on the +12, +5 and +3.3 V rails. When it comes to efficiency, while not quite in 80 Plus Platinum territory, the 80 Plus Gold expectations are easily matched with no significant efficiency degradation even at 110 % of the unit's rated power. Acoustic performance of the unit is also very good. While the passive range does not extend beyond the 40 % load mark, the fan ramp up curve is very gentle and the noise output even at the highest loads is barely noticeable.
