Thermaltake The Tower 100

Das besondere Vitrinenformat mit Panoramablick rückt eure Hardware in den Vordergrund, geht dafür jedoch auch ein paar Kompromisse ein. Die Temperaturen können dank des Kamineffekts etwas im Zaum gehalten werden, doch gerade sehr leistungsstarke CPUs kommen im Tower 100 schneller an ihre Grenzen.

Thermaltakes The Tower 100 ist ein Mini-ITX-Gehäuse, das die Hardware wie in einer Vitrine zur Schau stellt. In der Turquoise-Variante ist das vertikal orientierte Modell aber auch selbst ein Hingucker: Es zeigt sich äußerlich in auffälligem Türkis.

More than mini! Today on OCinside.de we are taking a look at a fancy ITX case from Thermaltake, The Tower 100, which claims to be a full featured mini ITX gaming case. What it can and cannot do, we show in the following Thermaltake Tower 100 review including a small ITX PC building guide. We hope you enjoy it.

When Thermaltake first launched the Tower 900, it garnered quite a bit of attention, which was mostly due to its sheer size. While it also provided a unique layout, that facet fell a bit by the wayside as having such a massive chassis next to your desk is usually not an option. Thus, it is great that Thermaltake has shrunk things down to ITX, the form factor that really makes the most of the layout. The Tower 100 will certainly look cool next to any monitor on top of your desk without taking up too much room. Thanks to its three glass sides, you can clearly show off your components, and any RGB effects can unleash their full potential as well.

I’m not going to beat around the bush here, this is one of my favourite cases, ever. I absolutely hated the last one just because of its size. Actually, I feel that way about a few Thermaltake cases, which I feel are just too big to make any sense from a consumer perspective. Of course, the modders love them, and I get that there IS a market for that, it’s just not for me. This new one, however, ticks all the right boxes for me.

Der Hersteller Thermaltake, welcher bekannt für optisch auffällige Gehäuse ist, hat wieder mal seinem Namen alle Ehre gemacht. Die seit vielen Jahren bekannte Tower Serie hat bereits vor kurzer Zeit eine Mini „ITX“ Variante bekommen. Nun hat Thermaltake nochmals nachgelegt und das Gehäuse „The Tower 100 Turquoise Mini“ vorgestellt.

I know I’ve said it a few times now, but the Tower 100 is an interesting case. Thermaltake didn’t stick with the same design that most other ITX cases have. It takes the original Tower 900’s design and shrinks it down into a more compact form factor. That means you still get this very open looking case with tempered glass windows on three of the four sides so you can see everything inside but with a smaller footprint that is a lot easier to fit on your desk. That isn’t to say that the Tower 100 is a small case, once you figure in its height it is big for an ITX case but it isn’t going to be in the way on your desk like a full-size case would. Thermaltake kept most of the design in steel and glass with only things like the angled top section being plastic. That gives the Tower 100 a much more durable construction but it also makes it heavier and not a case that I would be taking from event to event.
