Tom Clancy's The Division 2

Riesiger, detailfreudiger und alle seine Elemente motivierend miteinander verzahnender Loot-Shooter, dem ein langes Leben gewiss scheint.

The story was good and while I would have enjoyed there being more to it, a good balance between story and open-world gameplay was achieved here. The gameplay has some issues or weaknesses to it, but largely was quite fun and free from complaint from me. I think if you enjoy this kind or genre of game, that you can enjoy this one too.

My main problem with The Division 2, however, is that even at its best, it is entirely derivative. The Division is basically Gears of War in a less interesting setting (and with less interesting combat), stretched out over 30 hours. Yes, it's open world and online, but at the core it's a fundamentally similar experience.

The Division 2 manages to improve upon the original formula in almost every way, but its tale and tone are frequently awful.

The Division 2 präsentiert ein schönes, aber heruntergekommenes Washington. Im Test des Spiels mit verschiedensten Grafikkarten von AMD und Nvidia zeigt sich, dass DirectX 12 deutlich runder als DirectX 11 läuft. Die Anforderungen an die GPU sind aber auch mit der Low-Level-API hoch.

With this admittedly small sample size we obviously haven't covered every budget, and it will be interesting to see how the lower-cost cards fare with games like The Division 2. This new game is quite VRAM hungry at higher detail settings, making a great case for 8GB AMD Radeon cards in the sub-$200 price bracket.

Massive Entertainment's The Division 2 showcases part of a significant shift that is happening in the PC gaming landscape, with the adoption of modern graphical APIs coming due to the need for increased CPU performance, rather than the need to squeeze more juice out of your graphics card.

The developers have done a stellar job here, which will no doubt put a thorn in the side of recently launched Anthem. Where the latter struggles, The Division 2 excels. This is loot-based team building gameplay that is as good as it gets. There's a wealth of diversity to the in-game items, enemies and some fantastically put together set pieces.

Over the course of today, we'll be adding some more results as well as we'll be looking at CPU scaling. The Division 2 is an AAA game, you really need to like the genre though and it is definitely not the game type of this editor. That's, however, is not important though. The quality in-game seem pretty okay and are more polished on the PC compared to the previous edition.
