Dabei sticht die Konfiguration über die iCUE Software (Profil-, Tasten- und RGB-Einstellungen) hervor. Die Beleuchtungsoptionen sind sehr umfangreich und sollten für jeden Geschmack passende Profile enthalten – andernfalls können diese selbst erstellt werden.

Let's talk about pricing first since this impacts the overall review quite a bit. At $140 for the Cherry MX Red RGB version and $150 for the Cherry MX Silent Red RGB version (with the latter not available from most resellers to begin with), the STRAFE RGB MK.2 from CORSAIR is not the best value for money by any means. There are many competing products from other manufacturers that offer most of what this one does at a substantially lower price point.

Corsair's Strafe RGB MK.2 is an inviting choice for those who aren't keen on splurging for the top-of-the-range K95. As a mid-range solution, the latest Strafe offers a well-rounded feature set that includes dedicated multimedia controls, a bundled palm rest, USB passthrough, Cherry MX Red or Silent switches, and some of the best lighting effects in the business. There are a few trade-offs - there's no metal top plate and the underside could use a little extra rubber for stability - but Corsair has ticked most of the relevant boxes. The most significant caveat is that regional pricing can wreak havoc on Corsair's product positioning, and Strafe RGB MK.2 only makes sense if there's a meaningful saving over its aluminium-framed K70 sibling.

The STRAFE RGB MK.2 is everything a high-end keyboard should be. Aesthetically, it looks amazing with its brushed aluminum top, vivid configurable RGB LED’s, stylish volume wheel and textured spacebar/wrist rest. Thanks to the 100% anti-ghosting full key rollover it didn’t miss a beat while both gaming and writing this review. While gaming, I really enjoyed the Cherry MX Silent switches as they couldn’t be heard when communicating with my team mates and were very responsive when pressed. I also thought the included FPS/MOBA key caps a nice bonus and they felt quite nice once I got used to contours on them. When configurating the lighting effects with the downloaded iCUE software, I found that the software was easy to use and it had a nice variety of pre-configured lighting effects with Rainbow Wave being my personal favorite. My only negative about the keyboard would be the exclusion of the profile, brightness and windows lock key from the RGB effects but this is a minor issue as they can be at least configured to be single color. This is probably one of the best mechanical keyboards I have ever used and would have no problem recommending it to anyone looking for a high performing keyboard packed full of amazing features.
