Endorfy SilentiumPC Fera 5

SilentiumPC designed the Fera 5 to entice advanced users who want a good tower cooler for their new gaming system and/or workstation but, at the same time, are on a limited budget. With street pricing running at around €30, it's a very tempting price for those in the market for a silent CPU cooler that will do more than just get the job done. Alas, the global instability during the past couple of years significantly limited the availability of many products, with the smaller companies facing the brunt of the crisis. As a result, the Fera 5 is virtually limited to Europe – and even then it's not exactly an equal distribution. Still, for those markets that have access to it, the SilentiumPC Fera 5 is a very sensible choice for users that want a budget cooler that offers a lot of bang for the buck and do not expect to be upgrading their CPU/motherboard combo anytime soon.

SilentiumPC really pulled a rabbit out of the hat with the Fera 5 and Fera 5 Dual Fan coolers. Not only is performance solid on both, price to performance is also exceptional. Both are near the top of the chart, with the Fera 5 one of the best I have seen. Even the increased cost of the Fera 5 Dual Fan has it remain of top-tier value, and it only gets better when you consider that they have a decent noise profile with the added benefit of the semi-passive operation with the fans at very low PWM settings.

SilentiumPC isn’t perhaps one of the biggest brands around, but over the last 5 years, they’ve certainly been making some very big moves within the more budget-focused section of the PC hardware market. Not, incidentally, as that’s any criticism as often less expensive components are the ones that tend to sell the best. – With the launch of the new Fera 5 air CPU coolers, therefore, if you’re looking for a new cooling solution that offers plenty of punch but one that won’t dent your bank balance, this does look to be well worth checking out!

We already had a good air cooler from SPC in the form of the large Grandis 3 in review, the newest member of the compact Fera series should now also perform well. Whether you should give in to the temptingly low price, you will find out in the following article:
